Stable Ronaldo, Marlon and the CORE Boys: the post-FaZe creator house, explained
Six former FaZe Clan creators started a group with a $20 million house. By July it won Best Group at Streamer University.
The tea in 3
- CORE (“Create, Own, Run, Everything”) launched Apr 30 with six ex-FaZe creators and a $20 million house, per Complex.
- Members: Marlon, Adapt, Lacy, Stable Ronaldo, Silky and JasonTheWeen, part of a mass FaZe exodus last December.
- The CORE Boys won Best Group at Streamer University on July 19, per Gaming Amigos.
CORE is a creator group made up of six former FaZe Clan streamers: Marlon, Adapt, Lacy, Stable Ronaldo, Silky and JasonTheWeen. Complex reported the launch on Apr 30 and Tubefilter followed on May 1. The plan is a $20 million house and old-school vlog content.
First, what happened to FaZe
Tubefilter says most of FaZe Clan’s creator roster left the organization last December, about five months before CORE was announced. It also recounts that FaZe’s plan to go public fell through when investors did not deliver the funding, and that a sale to esports company GameSquare brought FaZe Banks in as CEO.
What CORE is
The name stands for “Create, Own, Run, Everything,” a motto Tubefilter says echoes the creator empowerment FaZe was known for. Complex says the group was unveiled on a livestream hosted by Banks, FaZe’s former CEO, meant to explain why the earlier group fell apart. FaZe Banks is not a member but supports the mission, per Tubefilter.
Complex quotes Banks recalling what he told the creators: “I have this vision, I have this plan and it will work.” And, he said, “it did.” On the business, Tubefilter quotes him saying he thought, “in good faith that if we did a good job, we’d figure the business out later.”
JasonTheWeen, one of the youngest to leave FaZe, told Complex: “It was sad, to be honest.”
