The H3 Podcast, one of YouTube’s biggest talk shows, is on indefinite hiatus, and its production crew says it will not keep working with Ethan Klein involved or profiting. The crew’s statement came after Hila Klein said in an Instagram post that her husband had an affair, according to Variety and Dexerto.

What Hila said

In her post, Hila Klein wrote that she had sensed something was wrong and that her questions were met with “dismissive answers and no action.” She said she eventually stopped questioning him and began questioning herself.

She wrote that “it was just a kiss” became “it was emotional cheating,” and that he finally “admitted he’d been in an affair for over 6 months, the extent of which I’m sure I still don’t know.”

She described him as her “partner in marriage, parenting, and business,” and said she is “trying to navigate separation, co-parenting, and unthinkable heartbreak.” She added that she is focused on taking care of herself and her children “one day at a time.”

What the crew said

The H3 team’s statement was blunt. “We stand with Hila and will support her every step of the way. We’re disgusted by Ethan’s actions and the hurt he has caused.”

They wrote that they were “shocked, angry, and heartbroken to learn about Ethan’s ongoing affair,” and that “as soon as we found out, we all agreed: we would not continue working with Ethan involved or profiting in any way.”

What Ethan said

On Friday, Ethan Klein wrote in an Instagram Story that he knows “a lot of people are understandably looking for a comment from me,” but asked people not to contact his family. “They have nothing to do with this and share in your outrage and disappointment,” he wrote, per Variety. Dexerto reported he had also reposted Hila’s statement on his own Instagram.

Neither Hila nor the crew has named anyone else, and we are not going to either.

Why this is a business story too

According to Variety, Ethan and Hila met in 2007, built their YouTube careers together and married in 2012. The H3 Podcast launched in 2016 and has 2.5 million subscribers on YouTube. Hila called him her partner in “business” too, and the crew’s statement means the people who make the show do not plan to keep making it with him.

What happens next

The crew said it does not yet know what its decision means for the show’s future. “There’s a lot to work through, and we wish we had more answers for you,” the statement said.
