The tea in 3

  1. Billion Dollar Boy bought B2B creator agency Creator Authority on Oct 14; terms weren't disclosed beyond 'multimillion-dollar', all cash plus an earnout.
  2. Quartermast Advisors, which advised the seller, counted 70 creator-economy deals in H1 2026, up 23% from a year earlier.
  3. One estimate says creator-startup venture funding fell to about $58M in Jan-May 2026 from roughly $807M a year earlier.

Billion Dollar Boy, a creator marketing company, has bought Creator Authority, a B2B influencer agency, in its first-ever acquisition. The deal was announced on Oct 14, per Dealroom. Dealroom calls the price “multimillion-dollar,” all cash plus an earnout; no figure was disclosed.

It’s one deal, but it lands in a year when big companies keep buying up the businesses around creators.

What Billion Dollar Boy is getting

Creator Authority works on B2B creator marketing: creators who talk to business buyers, not just fans. Dealroom reports its team will grow from about 15 people to 30 to 40, and expand from Los Angeles and Austin to New York and London.

Brendan Gahan, who becomes SVP of B2B at Billion Dollar Boy, put it this way:

It feels like YouTube in 2010; there’s this moment when it just explodes, and I’m excited to grow with it.— Brendan Gahan, as quoted by Dealroom

Billion Dollar Boy says its global revenue grew 24% over the past 12 months and forecasts 2027 revenue above $100 million, per Dealroom. Those are the buyer’s own claims.

The 70-deal count comes from Quartermast Advisors, which advised Creator Authority on the sale, so it has a stake in the story. The 20% figure is from a Censuswide survey of 1,000+ US and UK marketing decision-makers that Billion Dollar Boy commissioned, per Dealroom.

The other recent deals

  1. CAA and TPG’s IMC launch a $250 million holding company to buy creator businesses.
  2. Accenture Song buys Whalar.
  3. Publicis Groupe buys Point d’Orgue.
  4. SAMY acquires Get Engaged.
  5. Billion Dollar Boy buys Creator Authority.

The July to September deals are listed by Dealroom as comparable transactions. The Compound launch is from TheWrap and Creatorversed.

Meanwhile, startups are getting less money

ContentGrip cites one estimate that creator-economy venture funding in January to May 2026 was roughly $58 million across nine deals. The same period of 2025 saw about $807 million across eleven deals. Fewer big checks for startups, more buyouts of existing agencies.

That’s one estimate, and ContentGrip doesn’t name where it comes from, so take the exact gap loosely.

Why you should care

When agencies get bought by giant holding companies, the people who book creators for brand deals change. That can affect rates and who gets chosen. We don’t have deal-level data on that yet.

What’s next

Expect more of the same. Compound’s backers said they plan to buy creator-run businesses, and agencies keep consolidating.
