MrBeast bet $100K a round against LeBron, Clark and Haaland. Who won?
His Oct. 31 video lines up seven stars, and Hardik Pandya's win is clear, but two outlets disagree on who took the LeBron shootout.
The tea in 3
- MrBeast's Oct. 31 video puts $100,000 per round on contests against LeBron, Caitlin Clark, Haaland, Biles, Liu, Pandya and Ramsay.
- Cricketer Hardik Pandya beat MrBeast at baseball and gave the $100,000 to charity, according to Yahoo Sports and IBTimes AU.
- Yahoo says LeBron won the shootout 6-5, while IBTimes AU says MrBeast edged him. The two reports conflict.
MrBeast’s new video, “Beat LeBron, Win $100,000,” has a scoreboard, and the headline match is the one outlets can’t agree on. The video went up on his YouTube channel Saturday, Oct. 31. It has MrBeast putting $100,000 per round against LeBron James, Caitlin Clark, Erling Haaland, Simone Biles, Alysa Liu, Hardik Pandya and Gordon Ramsay.
The format, per IBTimes AU, is simple: if the guest wins, the $100,000 goes to a charity they pick. If MrBeast wins, it goes to his subscribers. MrBeast wrote on X that he bet “the top athletes in the world $100,000 I could beat them!”
The scoreboard, as reported
Here is the tally from IBTimes AU’s recap. Treat the LeBron line with care, because it is the one that conflicts.
- Target practice on goal. IBTimes AU calls it a narrow tie.
- A figure skating obstacle course. IBTimes AU says MrBeast’s team beat her.
- A baseball hitting contest. Pandya had never played baseball and won, Yahoo Sports reports.
- A shooting challenge with $50,000 for a half-court shot and an optional extra $50,000. IBTimes AU says Clark won.
- A cooking contest. IBTimes AU says the judges picked Ramsay’s dish.
- A high-altitude balance beam challenge. IBTimes AU reports no result for it.
- A one-on-one three-point shootout in Akron, Ohio. Reports disagree on who won.
The LeBron round: two versions
Both outlets agree on the setup. It was a timed three-point contest in LeBron’s hometown, with $100,000 for the LeBron James Family Foundation if he won. LeBron joked beforehand, “I’m no Steph Curry, but I can make a couple of shots.”
vs
The Yahoo piece is a syndicated EssentiallySports story and gives a specific score. IBTimes AU gives none. One of them has it wrong, so check the final minutes of the video before you argue about it in the group chat.
Yahoo calls the video “Beat LeBron, Win $100,000.” YouTube’s own listing shows the title as “Beat LeBron In Basketball, Win $100,000,” and some Indian outlets used a different title entirely, according to IBTimes AU.
Pandya’s win is the clean one
This part is consistent across reports. Pandya, India’s all-rounder, beat MrBeast in a home-run challenge, with Indian YouTuber CarryMinati in the segment. IBTimes AU, citing Indian media, says he sent three balls out of the stadium.
He then gave the prize away. Reports say it went to ADAPT and Community Streeties India, which work in animal welfare, and IBTimes AU describes it as about 94 lakh rupees. Yahoo notes the donation was “understood” to have gone to those groups, so the wording is secondhand.
Where it stands
The one question left is the LeBron round. Both outlets published on Nov. 1, a day after the upload, so corrections may follow. Until then, the safe version is that Pandya won and gave the money to charity, and the LeBron result depends on which write-up you trust.
