The tea in 3
- Streamer University ran July 15-20 at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, with 120 in-person creators.
- Streams Charts counted nearly 57 million hours watched and 1.45 million peak viewers, over double year one.
- MrBeast announced a $100,000 treasure hunt with 10 briefcases of $10,000 each.
Kai Cenat’s Streamer University 2026 more than doubled its first year. The event ran July 15-20 at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, and Hendrix says it logged nearly 57 million hours watched and 1.45 million peak viewers, according to Streams Charts.
How it started
Cenat announced the return on June 8 with a Harry Potter-inspired trailer, his first major streaming project of 2026 after months away, Revolt reported. Applicants chose a role: student, professor or club director. They had to be 18 or older and able to travel to the US. Accepted creators attended free, with lodging and meals covered. Clubs included Drama, Debate Team, Basketball Team, Film Club and Fraternity.
What the school says
Per Hendrix, thousands of visitors came to campus and nearly 200 streamers produced content from the event. The awards ceremony on July 20 streamed on Cenat’s Twitch and YouTube. The first edition was held at the University of Akron in May 2025.
The money
- MrBeast announced a $100,000 real-life treasure hunt: 10 hidden briefcases, $10,000 each.
- A Fortnite hunt on campus with Epic Games offered winners $7,500 brand deals.
The college angle
Hendrix students worked on logistics, broadcast setup, cameras and network management. Starting with the fall 2026 class, Hendrix will require a professional co-op for every graduate. President Karen Petersen said, We gave Arkansas and Hendrix unbelievable exposure in places around the world.
Why it matters
Year one at Akron was a four-day bootcamp. Year two moved to a small liberal arts college and, per Streams Charts, more than doubled viewership. The line between a creator event and a college program is now thin: students ran the broadcast and the school is making co-ops mandatory.
Hendrix Provost Teresa Garrett said, The unbeatable combination of the liberal arts and real-world experience is a cornerstone of long-term success.
The setting
Conway has about 72,000 residents, per Hendrix. The college was founded in 1876 and competes in 21 NCAA Division III sports. Mayor Bart Castleberry credited cooperation between city and college officials for making the event possible.
