What it is
Per hololive’s announcement, it’s a new Daggerheart adventure that is canon to Critical Role’s world of Exandria. Ultra PRO is the sponsor.
Where to watch
Episodes will be on Critical Role’s, Nerissa Ravencroft’s and hololive English’s YouTube channels, and on Beacon, Critical Role’s subscription-based streaming service. Wargamer says the show will be in English. Japanese subtitles will be available on YouTube. An Episode 0 covering character building and backstories, plus after-episode “cooldown” talks, will be on Beacon.
Wargamer notes the hololive cast members have big YouTube followings (it lists Mori Calliope at 2.66 million subscribers and Nerissa Ravencroft at over 1 million) and calls this the most mainstream VTuber appearance in actual play so far. A crossover puts both fanbases on the same series.
A convention tour is coming
The announcement says a promotional convention tour in North America, Europe and Asia, plus exclusive merchandise, will be announced later.
Also announced: hololive Meet in Sweden
On Oct 19, COVER announced hololive Meet will make its Sweden debut at DreamHack Stockholm, Nov 27 to 29 at Stockholmsmässan, its first event in the Nordic region. The booth will feature ticketed one-on-one Meet and Greet sessions and a Shattered Legends panel with Nerissa Ravencroft and Mori Calliope.
The Super Karaoke Party, on Nov 28 at 1:00 PM CET, features Mori Calliope, Nerissa Ravencroft and Elizabeth Rose Bloodflame. Hololive says the lineup may change at short notice.
What happens next
Look for an exact premiere date; the companies have only said mid-November.
Why fans are excited
Daggerheart is a fantasy tabletop roleplaying game, and Shattered Legends is set in Exandria, the world fans know from Critical Role’s campaigns. Putting hololive talents at the table brings that world to a VTuber audience, and the Beacon extras (Episode 0, cooldown talks) are aimed at superfans. The announcement does not give an exact premiere date, only mid-November.
