MrBeast’s 202-day grocery store finale just broke his own 24-hour views record
Four guys from Greenville, NC, lived in a grocery store for 202 days and ate their way to a shared $1 million prize.
The tea in 3
- MrBeast says "Eat Everything In A Grocery Store, Win $1,000,000" is his most viewed video ever in 24 hours.
- Dexerto reports 70M+ views on day one and close to 100M by Oct 5.
- Four Greenville, NC, contestants spent 202 days in the store and split the $1M prize.
MrBeast just beat his own best: his grocery store finale, “Eat Everything In A Grocery Store, Win $1,000,000,” is his most viewed video ever in its first 24 hours. He posted the video on Oct 3 and announced the record himself on X the next day, according to Dexerto.
Quick clarification before the group chat gets ahead of itself: this is his personal record, not YouTube’s all-time 24-hour record. Still a very big number.
The numbers
Dexerto reported the video pulled more than 70 million views in its first day and was close to 100 million by Oct 5. The average viewer stuck around for more than 20 minutes of the roughly hourlong video, with over a billion minutes watched in total.

In the same post he said that even after 17 years of making content, he still thinks his “best days are ahead.”
Wait, how did this start?
It’s a sequel. Earlier this year MrBeast bought a whole grocery store in Greenville, North Carolina, and released “Last To Leave Grocery Store, Wins $250,000.” Local news station WITN says shoppers thought it was just a new store offering 50% off.
The problem: by day 67, four people still refused to leave. So MrBeast restocked the entire store and raised the prize to $1 million, on one condition: they had to clear all the food, about 4.3 million calories of it, per Dexerto.
- The challenge starts inside the Greenville store, per WITN
- Four contestants are left; the prize jumps to $1M
- The four cross the finish line together
- The finale video goes live
- MrBeast posts that it’s his best first 24 hours ever
The four who stayed
WITN identified the finalists as Juan Garcia, Jackson Smith, Reyhan Dzeko and Eldin Dzeko, all longtime Greenville residents. They didn’t have to eat everything alone: Dexerto says guests could help, and WITN reports food went to Joy’s Soup Kitchen and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.
The tasks got weird. Smith told WITN the 100-mile run was “over 14 hours of pure straight running.” Eldin Dzeko remembered one night when they were all stuffed and Smith ended it with a jalapeño smoothie.
In the end, Dexerto says only 6,614 calories went to waste, and that wasted food was deducted from the prize. WITN says each man got a share of the winnings but didn’t say how the money was split.
The wholesome part
Garcia told WITN he left the store with something worth more than cash: “I’m so happy because it has changed my life because I can now read and write.” Reyhan Dzeko, who has young kids, said he was “missing a quarter of their life” while inside.
What happens next
The channel isn’t slowing down. Tubefilter’s weekly chart for Oct 11 had MrBeast’s main channel at 521 million subscribers, up 2 million in a single week. After a first day like this one, he’ll be chasing his own record again soon.
