What Paul said

On May 27, after surgery, Paul shared photos and wrote: Tore my tricep, got surgery while wide awake, told doc I wanna feel it all. Still the Tag Team champ just FYI.

On the timeline, he said doctors were telling me 6 month recovery but I don’t believe them, I’ll be back in a couple weeks with some PRIME shake. That was a joke about his drink brand, and months later he was more sober about it.

The rehab

Per Ringside News, the triceps was torn completely off the bone and surgeons reattached it. In an August vlog Paul said he was getting platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, where part of his own blood is spun in a centrifuge and injected back into the muscle.

By September he had described himself as semi-cleared and said he could throw clotheslines, per Ringside News.

The November answer

In a later vlog filmed backstage at WWE, Paul says Michael Hayes told him You’re not cleared till at least November. Hayes said the timeline came from Bruce Prichard and Triple H after they asked WWE’s medical staff, Ringside News reports.

What it means for The Vision

POST Wrestling noted that in the storyline any member of The Vision can defend the tag titles, and that Theory and Bron Breakker were set to do so while Paul was out. Paul was the latest of the group to get hurt, along with Seth Rollins, Breakker and Bronson Reed.

Where it stands

Six months from late May lands in late November, and the Hayes comment points the same way. WWE has not announced a return date in the sources we checked.
